Job PurposeThe Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to assist the regional librarian in providing a service to affiliated public libraries in the region.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
RecommendationRelevant exposure/experience in a library environment.
Key Performance AreasAdministrative support to the region and affiliated public libraries; Provide asset control support services; Provide personnel administration support services within the office; Provide financial administration support services in the regional office.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Computerised Library Management system (SLIMS); Asset managementSkills in the following: Written and verbal communication; Computer skills in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc); Planning and organising; Interpersonal relations; Teamwork. 
RemunerationR 216 417 per annum (Salary level 5)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
